Assistant Director of Children's Ministry

Overview:

Provides prayerful, visionary and supportive leadership for the overall function of children’s ministry with a focus on leading and discipling Early Childhood-aged children (6 weeks-Pre-K).

Job Qualifications:

• Part-time (15-20 hours per week)

• Competitive Pay

• High School Graduate or above

• At least one year of directly related experience supervising similar program preferred.

• Commitment to an ethical lifestyle appropriate for ministry and the core values of the church per the employee handbook.

• Must be a committed Christian comfortable working in a church environment.

• Must pass a background check.

• Sunday Morning and Wednesday Evening Availability (during Midweek). Additional nights and weekends as needed

• CPR certified or willing to become so.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

• Reliable transportation

• Fluency with Microsoft Office, Canva and/or Photoshop, and brite* curriculum a plus!

Job Responsibilities

• Administrative duties including but not limited to printing, laminating, organizing, sending birthday cards, etc.

• Coordinates with the Director of Children’s Ministry to oversee the entire Early Childhood Ministry for children ages 6 weeks to Pre-K.

• Preparing for annual events alongside Director of Children’s Ministry and other ministry leaders

• Develop Nursery Team Schedules and care for Nursery Team Staff, including managing CPR certifications and safety guidelines.

• Plans and facilitates, using provided curriculum, weekly ministry programs, including but not limited to Sunday Mornings and Wednesday evenings during Midweek Programming.

• Preparing and teaching preschool lessons from curriculum, including organizing materials, leading worship with videos, small group lesson plan, crafts, and activities, and modifying, and interpreting the given curriculum as necessary to align with the theology of St. Andrew’s Community Church

• Provides caring relationship outside of Sunday mornings for ministry staff, parents, and leaders
