Midweek

Discipleship for All Ages

Adults and Children Register below

We look forward to you and your family joining us for dinner on Wednesday nights at 5:30 starting September 9 and running through October 28. Following dinner each week at 6:30 will be three discipleship classes to choose from for adults as well as nursery and programming for children and youth. We have something special planned for all ages.

Please register for one of the three classes so we can schedule rooms based on class size. Registration is not needed for youth. There is a separate registration for children's ministry. You can reach out to Rev. Josh Coats (jcoats@saokc.org) with any questions about Midweek this Fall.

Good News good shoes

Someone needs a pair of shoes your size, so bring a pair of new or gently used shoes to benefit someone else. Share the Good News too by writing a scripture, note or prayer to the unknown recipient of the shoe blessing. Collection will run from September 13th through October 4th.

Grandparent summit

There are approximately 30 million grandparents in the U.S. Each one is a potential influence in the lives of their grandchildren. Most Christians would agree, but so little is being done to challenge and equip them. Legacy Coalition is here to encourage churches to minister to grandparents as they encourage and influence their grandchildren. Our desire is for grandparents to look beyond the pleasures of the retirement culture and invest in the lives of their grandchildren. Join us from 9:00am until 4:30pm. Register early for the best rates!

Mexico City Mission trip 2027

Jesus calls His followers to, "Go, make disciples of all nations..." following His resurrection at the end of the Gospel of Matthew. Will you prayerfully consider going to Mexico City to help us live out Jesus' call?

We will be partnering with MEFI, a ministry who works with the local church to show mercy, share hope, cultivate faith and teach skills for integration among the homeless children and young people of Mexico City. This ministry utilizes four programs to help meet its goals: a proactive ministry, street-outreach ministry, a drop-in center and a rehab and integration program. All four of these ministries work together to help children and young people get off and stay off the streets, and each child is also given a Gospel presentation, which is the only true hope they have.

Expected cost of the trip will be around $1,500 per person depending on the cost of airfare. This is an adult mission trip, though high school students are able to go if accompanied by a parent. If you are interested in learning more about this trip and possibly going, then join us in the youth room following the 10:30 worship service on Sunday, September 13 for an informational meeting.

You can contact Josh with any questions you may have about the trip. (918-549-8217 or jcoats@saokc.org)
