Note from the Pastor
They went into the grave. There they saw a young man with a long white coat sitting on the right side. They were afraid. He said, “Do not be afraid. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth Who was nailed to a cross. He is risen! He is not here! See, here is the place where they laid Him. Go and tell His followers and Peter that He is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see Him there as He told you.” They ran from the grave shaking and were surprised. They did not say anything to anyone because they were afraid.
A big tradition of college football is tailgating. Meeting with friends for food and fellowship before a game while in the atmosphere of all the fans is quite exhilarating. Everyone is dressed in game day gear ready to cheer their team on to victory! But here is something about tailgating that you may not know. Not everyone dressed in game day gear actually goes to the game. Some only come for the party. Some watch on a television outside the stadium. Some just wait for friends to come back after the game so that the party continues.
Today may feel like you are tailgating but not going to the game. The excitement of game day seems to translate to the buzz of those coming to worship on Easter. Only today, we don’t get to come into the “stadium” to worship. Instead we are watching on a screen outside. While this may be hard, sad and frustrating, I submit that this may be the most meaningful Easter of your life.
